A Poem of Growth – Where Are You With This Hole in Your Life?

Posted by

We’ve been at this Bravester living conversation for over a year now. How are you doing? What progress have you made?

Thank you for staying with me as I continue to provoke your vulnerability.  I’m provoking you into a brave life.

How is your growth? Where do you fall in this poem today as you start a new year?

  1. I walk down the street,

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

                I fall in.

I am lost…I am helpless.

It isn’t my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

  1. I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

                I pretend I don’t see it.

I fall in again.

I can’t believe I’m in the same place,

But, it isn’t my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

  1. I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

                I see it there.

I still fall in…it’s a habit.

My eyes are open.

I see where I am.

It’s my fault.

I get out immediately.

  1. I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

                I walk around it.

  1. I walk down another street.

Were you able to place yourself at a spot in this poem?  Ponder this spot for a while.  Spend time praying about where you are.  We are going to talk more about this together.  Be brave as together we help you find another street.
